Reccemaster Joins RvB
2I’ve now been in Eve for about a year…….. and like many others have trained a mix of skills whilst searching for my destiny. Choosing to Mine, Craft (make things), Trade and Mission I have had a go at most of what Eve has to offer including Wormholes, Exploration and even a little Pirate activity. I am yet to try faction warfare. Although these can be very rewarding, I’ve yet to see my ISK increase by much as I tripped over myself to get into bigger and better ships required for each differing activities. That includes industrial ships with Cargo Rigs, then loosing it two little gits on an un-dock of the station I bought $20mil of Trade goods from to trade.
I’ve noticed however that I always ran away (When I didn’t get podded that is) at the smallest sight of conflict and wanted to learn how to PvP and hold my own. Probably in truth driven by wanting to get these two gits back which I still have kill rights on……… To this end I’ve joined RvB. A week on and I’m enjoying it immensely.
So What is RvB I hear you ask?
The best way I can answer that is to provide you an extract of the recruitment post with a link at the end of the quote to the source…… if it sounds like your ‘bag’ then why not come along and join in.
What is RvB?
R-V-B is a long standing P-V-P institution that began back in 2007. The premise of RvB is two corporations, Red and Blue, which are constantly at war with eachother. You choose a side, join up and are welcome to get into action immediately.A significant portion of the fighting in RvB takes place in frigate and cruiser size hulls there are ample opportunities to kill and use every type of ship.
We are currently operating in the Lonetrek region. Red HQ is in Hageken IV and Blue HQ in Autaris I.
RvB has only two rules. The first is no podding fellow RvB members and the second is no mid slot ECM jammers are allowed except on your own HQ. (Note: None of these rules apply in low sec, null sec or against 3rd party WTs).
RvB’s main forum is found at the following link: http://rvb.tech-pc.com/index.php
Since I’ve been signed up I have found everyone friendly. Willing to provide fitting guidance via the chat (both voice and text and fleets are almost always available. I’m getting better at killing things and living long enough to get away again. My Killboard stats are here: http://redfed.eve-kill.net/?a=pilot_detail&plt_id=784552
As stated. Fleets run frequently and I must say the FC (Fleet commend) has been top notch. Other Corp mates are willing to teach and you can also have good time in general just shooting the shit. I’ve just got a Moa (http://www.eve-markets.net/detail.php?typeid=623) off the corp for $2mil (against $6m off the markets), and have x10 qty Free Ketrel Frigs (http://www.eve-markets.net/detail.php?typeid=602). All from answering some emails that landed in my Eve mail box.
I’m currently learning Frig fits mainly using Rifters and Punishers. I’m finding my skills lagging a bit due to previous diversity approach to sill learning.
I sustain myself trade running from Jita to Hageken. I use a private courier service that only costs me 0.5isk per m3 per Jump so I carry no risk of being cought with my goodies on the way back. Currently, $40m investment in Jita provides about $55m at the end of sale in Hag…. which takes probably about 5 days to complete. I’ll get better as this as time goes on and I learn what items I need to trade and qty etc. Although not mega ISK, I’m making more now from buying and selling the items I use than I ever really made Mining – and I have LOADS more fun doing it! I’ve also finally got crafting down… with Rigs (more to come at a latter date on this).

Eve Guide – How to Steal Ore
2Eve Online- How to steal ore and get rich……
- Firstly. You must understand that although that stealing ore from other players is legal and us part of the game in Eve. Other players won’t like you,
- Best thing to do is fit out a Frigate and fit it with an Expanded Cargo module in the low slot and in the mid slot either an After burner of Micro Drive.
- Ideally… locate yourself in one of the starting player systems – this just makes it easier on you as the other players will be newer to the game and not twig whats going on. Warp to an Ore belt… any will do and have a look around.
- Your looking for another player who is mining into a jet can. It should be labeled on your overview as a cargo container. You can aproach it and open it by double clicking on it in the overview or picking the open option from the overview options….
- Open up your own cargo window and get ready to transfer the ore from the other players to yours.
Important! Once you take the ore you will be flagged to the other player. This allows them to fire on you for 15min. You can then fire back if you want to… but this isn’t the point at this stage.
Its a good idea to just have a look through the employment history of the cargo container owner to make sure they are not a 2year old player… or you may find yourself in a world of hurt. Do not fire on the other player untill they fire on you – or you WILL be killed in high sec by Concord (eve police).
Alternatively, and with some practice you can pull the ore over in warp… or just before you go into warp. To do this… you need to have both cargo windows next to each other. Pick a station or sun to warp to and initiate the warp… you will have to be quick, but with practice you can move the ore over just as you enter warp and simply vanish. The other player will be left scratching their heads if done correctly. Just remember that for 15min you will be flagged to that player and they are free to fire upon you if they want to without any Concord recourse…. so probably better to just systems to stay out of the way.
What can go wrong?
- You can steal ore from a player with a fit-out that has wps and get killed. This can happen if you pick the wrong can to steal and the owner takes offence and have the ability to do something about it. Most won’t, but be warned. Some do.
- You return to the same belt too soon and are still flagged… or you get followed. End result can still be the same.
- You are not within range to pull ore over. Must be max 2,500m
- You steal an amount of ore that wont fit into your cargo bay, thus get a pop up and simply take too long about things to notice your warp scrambled and dead in the water… again – you can get killed.
Does this work?
Yes. But after you learn how to do this.. you will need and or want to take things up a notch and simply won’t be happy stealing a few hundred m^3 of ore at a time. Then you need to move into industrial ships and wait for nearly full cans… again more gain = more risk.
You will gain a bad in-game reputation if you constantly do this at the same belt and systems.
